where Graphic Recording, Illustration, and Animation are created with dedication and love. My name is Christoph J Kellner, and I founded the studio 25 years ago in Berlin. This website is about the studio and my offerings.

I have been drawing since I could hold a pen. I take genuine joy in it and have developed an understanding of translating visual and life experiences into images. This motivates me daily and remains a constant challenge. Openness and curiosity help in this endeavor. Subsequently this creates a space where learning is possible, both in terms of content and craftsmanship.
Sometimes, the gut thinks, sometimes the head feels – either way, I am fully engaged with heart and mind to find expression and further develop a personal style.
In addition, I have the courage to play, I experiment, and I afford myself passion projects for this. With humor comes lightness, from which charming, often colorful ideas bubble up. But I can also delve into darker themes. As a matter of fact I excel in clear focus, and I believe I have a sense of relevance. Accordingly, this enables me to make good design decisions. My commitment to value and quality is enduring. It includes clear communication beyond projects, just as much as successful results. Consequently the electricity that powers studio animanova has been completely carbon-neutral since 2001, thanks to positive energy from 100% ecological sources.

In short, from the first phone call, from concept to sketch, from draft to refinement – two eyes, two ears, and a hand for special stories are always an inseparable part. Because from the very beginning, the goal at studio animanova has been to tell good stories with images – whether they are my own or those of my clients.
After 25 years, it’s time to expand the creative horizon. From now on, the Berlin base will be joined by the junior studio near Barcelona. In addition to my visual language, it will now also be trilingual – initially in the digital showroom here on the Internet. German, English and Spanish – easily selectable in the menu at the top right.
